Chapter 1 Page 15, Figure 1.4: The callout labeled "Transition" should point to "CUT TO:" rather than to the slugline of the next scene.

Chapter 10 Sonic Desktop, makers of the SonicFire Pro software on our DVD, has changed its corporate name to SmartSound®, Inc. Its products include SmartSound Sonicfire Pro and SmartSound Movie Maestro soundtrack creation software and the Audio Palette, Sound Palette, Edge and Movie Music series of music and sound effects add-on CDs. DVD To download the demo version of Adobe Premiere from the Web click here. This program could not be included on the DVD.

DVD For instructions open ReadMeFirst.html. Double-click it and it will open in your browser. (Separate plain-text versions of this file are also provided there for PC and for Mac.) The How to Use.doc file in the Resources folder contains the same text but does not open correctly as a Word document (even though its text will be readable).

DVD Use the References.html file instead of the .doc version. You'll find it in the same folder. It will open in your browser, and all the Web links should be active. An updated version of the same file is included on this site on the Links page. Please report any dead links you find so we can fix them here. (The web links in the References.doc file in the Resources folder won't work when you click on them.)

DVD You'll find editable Word (DOC) and Excel (XLS) production forms in the Forms folder, just as we promised in the book. As well, Acrobat Reader (PDF) versions of the same forms are provided in the Forms\PDFs folder.
